When a buyer accepts a vendor's anonymous preliminary quote, Stripe charges 10% of the quoted price. The fee is non-refundable. Identity reveal, Data Room access, and the final-quote step all unlock at that moment.
After Stripe's processing fees, Fabmaster nets roughly 7.3%. All actual job payments — POs, milestones, and final invoices — flow directly between the buyer and the shop. We never touch job funds.

Is there a fee to post a job as a buyer?
No. Buyers post RFQs and receive matched quotes for free. The only buyer-side fee is the 10% engagement fee at the moment you accept a vendor's preliminary quote.
How does the 10% engagement fee work?
When a buyer accepts a vendor's anonymous preliminary quote, Fabmaster charges 10% of that quoted price via Stripe. The fee is non-refundable and unlocks identity reveal, Data Room access, and the final-quote step. After Stripe fees, the platform nets roughly 7.3%.
Do you take a cut of the job payment?
No. All milestone payments flow directly between buyer and vendor — wire, ACH, or credit card on the vendor's own merchant account. Fabmaster never holds job funds.
What if the final quote differs from the preliminary?
Vendors can revise after reviewing drawings in the Data Room. If buyer and vendor can't agree on a final price, both sides walk away. The engagement fee is non-refundable in either case — it's the cost of unlocking the verified vendor and the secure Data Room.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my tier?
Yes. Vendors can move between Basic, Verified, and Premium Certified at any time. Premium Certified requires the one-time consultant review on top of the annual fee.
Is the price range variable?
Yes. Verified is priced by shop size and capability breadth ($99 entry, $299 for large multi-process shops). Premium Certified ranges $499–$999/yr depending on consultant scope. We'll quote your exact tier on application.
